how far in advance should i place an order?

Please inquire about a custom order with as much notice as possible! I am typically booked out several weeks or months in advance, specifically around holidays, so advanced planning is important. I have limited availability for custom orders and may close custom ordering during heavy holiday seasons. Please note I will not be accepting orders with less than 2 weeks notice.

what is the turn around time for an order of cookies?

I am a solo part-time home baker, not a full service bakery, and as such I am not able to take short notice requests within a few days or a week. In developing a custom order, I am not just baking and decorating, but also consulting with you and designing a set that will exceed your expectations. Because of that, anything less than two weeks is considered a rush. This is because it does not allow time to order any custom cutters, packaging or materials that might be needed to ensure your design and order is perfect! And custom decorated sugar cookies are very time consuming to bake and decorate! All this to say, the further in advance the order can be placed, the better.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING OR DELIVERY?

All cookie pick-ups are from my home located in south Tempe, Arizona. I am not currently able to accommodate deliveries in the local Phoenix area. I am not permitted to ship orders outside the state of Arizona due to cottage law. If you know someone in Arizona who can pick up your order, they are welcome to ship wherever they like.

DO YOU OFFER ALLERGY FRIENDLY OPTIONS?

Our standard cookie recipe contains wheat, egg and dairy. While recipes do not contain nuts, A Modern Cookie is a shared home kitchen and cannot guarantee against trace elements in a recipe.

Gluten-friendly, dairy-free and vegan sugar cookies are available on request for an additional charge.

HOW CAN I EXPECT MY COOKIES TO BE PACKAGED WHEN I PICK THEM UP?

All cookies will be heat sealed to maintain quality and freshness. Standard sized cookies will be individually heat sealed while mini or small cookies may have several cookies sealed per package. Cookies will be placed in a gift box, basket or bag dependent on order size at the discretion of A Modern Cookie.

Cookies may be individually gift wrapped with bow or twine for an additional charge of $0.50 per cookie.

CAN YOUR DECORATED COOKIES BE FROZEN?

Absolutely! Freezing decorated cookies is a wonderful option if you have leftover cookies that you’d like to keep fresh for a later date. Additionally, if an order date is not available close to your event, selecting an earlier date and freezing cookies is a great option. As long as cookies are defrosted fully before being removed from the packaging, you will never know they weren’t freshly made!

Freezing Instructions

1. Carefully place cookies in airtight tubs or Ziplocs to freeze.

2. Take out of freezer the night before you’ll need them. Do not
   open the container until they are completely thawed.

3. Enjoy!
